The funny thing is: Tatsuya wasn't all that smart either. His questions and particularlyhis reactions afterwards revealed that he was aware that Lina was a spy, with no trace of puzzlement or confusion. Which indirectly reveals that he himself is active in the spy business, too.
So, unless he _wanted_ to reveal to Lina that he is versed in the spy business, he screwed up more than she did.
