I'd try uninstalling every codec, then installing ffdshow only (and maybe Koepi's XVid build). This should solve your problem; if it does not, use GSpot to check if you have the necessary codecs installed.

You can remove codecs with the Add/Remove Programs button in the Control Panel. You can find the necessary codecs here in the
Media Configuration Guide (Level 1).
