Eugeo died after asking Cardinal to turn his soul into a sword that can wound Administrator, slicing off one of Administrator's arms. Cardinal fused Alice's memory/soul shard that was removed from her when she got turned into a Synthesis Knight into Eugeo. Eugeo in this sword form OHKOed a sword skeletal golem/boss (think of it as a cross between Gleameyes and Skullreaper, but instead of bones it's made of swords, and each sword was a human soul formed into a sword.) made from a similar spell that was curbstomping Kirito, Alice and Eugeo moments before.

In Eugeo's last moments he told Kirito he was glad it ended this way, as otherwise he would have had to fight Kirito; Eugeo wanted the old Alice back, while Kirito would have fought to protect Synthesis Fifty, to prove the current Alice isn't just a fake, only as a personality built as a tool and nothing else. Eugeo passed on, his soul returned into the child form when Alice was taken away. Alice, the one he knew, was with him, as it was her memory/soul shard that was fused into him by Cardinal. The old Alice died with him, and they both went into oblivion together with faith Kirito will make UW a better place.

AFAIK, nothing different between WEB and LN version of Alice, except Alice was numbered at 'Synthesis Fifty' in WEB and at 'Synthesis Thirty' in LN version.
