Gosick...I wonder if I spelled it incorrectly and was quoted, will it then be
Gosic (sic) Okay, lame joke aside, the episode is something I always wanted from an anime, or any sort of media.
Spoiler for Ep 1:
And that thing is a Fair Play Whodunnit with the fortuneteller's death, I too was able to guess the killer the same time that Victorique did (really, shot at the eye is a dead giveaway) and that is a very great feeling. About the rest of the episode...well, I find it very interesting, Bones is bones after all, the visuals are great especially for things like the Botanical Garden and the library (really, first TWGOK, now this, what is it with colossal-sized libraries?) The whole plotline with the fortuneteller thing seems to be interesting too, making it more than just a case-of-the-week anime. I just hope that it'll continue to be this way, that the supernatural is only for motives and background events, but the murders are done by conventional means - what's the point of deduction and alibis when the criminal can just teleport in and out?
For the characters...well, so far they're clearly similar to Sherlock Holmes characters, with Victorique as Holmes (complete with pipe), Kazuya as the hapless Watson, and Grevil as Inspector Lestrade with way crazier hair. V is obviously has a secret behind her, seems like it'll drive the plot, the character also seems peculiar and interesting. The wide-eyed wonder when she sees the outside world is pleasant to see, great job as well for Aoi Yuuki for doing a great job. Besides, gothic-lolita detective kuudere? Perfect on all counts in my book. Kazuya and Lestrade isn't as interesting so far though, although I hope that'll change as more episodes roll in, at least they're not being too annoying
Oh, btw, I just loved when Victorique was rolling around, anyone mind making an avatar of that? Much appreciated.
