Really, animating hair can eat into the budget, and given their descent into CG for the dance scenes I'm not sure they have much of one to begin with. So instead they just went with making the hair look unique.

I just kinda thought they want to make the dance scene more dynamic since it's easier to use rotating camera for CG rather than do it with animation

LOL I actually dislike it now that I see there's a bun right there. It's kinda awkward looking to have a ball of hair like right there. Maybe I would like it better if it's on top of her head or something.
Also since they put more effort into her hair..it give a feel that she's practically the main character lol.
