I know that Mayo and Maya can be written with the same kanji, and in Yuutousei "Maya" is their aunt (little sister of their mother I guess) but still I'm a bit confused.

Thanks a lot, I had TLed it Maya as well and was perfectly happy then I read here that she's dead (??) and I just had to go chase it up. Anyways.
