Always with the "fire the director" crap whenever people don't like the way a show is going... If you look at the other works the director and series planner have worked on, there are a lot of shounen serials (Director did Rockman, Megaman and Zoids, and the Series Planner is currently doing Blue Dragon), and that's pretty much what this show feels like: the Japanese equivalent to a Saturday morning cartoon. It stands to reason that the production committee chose these key staff members because this is the sort of show they wanted to create. And if DVD sales continue to hold up (looking good after the first two volumes at ~9000/vol average), maybe it isn't such a failure after all.
Like or dislike aside, you two (and others here) are being so melodramatic.
