No, if we subscribe the theory about the Barrier being pure energy then that means it's a static
field that can deflect stuff at high velocity, if that stuff in question carries high enough KE (that is kinetic Energy) it'll broke through the barrier.
Doubt positron has enough energy to pierce it... the gamma ray resulting from positron contact with particles in the air may do some damage though, but that's if you pump enough positron, and that stuff cost 25.000.000 USD per gram
