Surely there could have been a better way of dealing with this than what he did. I actually muted and looked away until I was sure it was over.
For example, pulling a bluff. I guess he may have book-smarts, but he can't think on his feet, which is kind of useless. Act strong, pull a bluff and try to get the girl out. Not rush out like an idiot and still get beat anyway.
If not that, then be mature and talk to them seriously, and if they attack you, then you can fight back. You still end up beat up anyway, only this time, you didn't act like an idiot for the world to see.
