try to look at it again !! zero was suffrering from his hand !! it was like
a monster hands !!

also kanami was there talking to zero , he might ask him to join his group
with yuuki !! so he can protect her as always ...

or let's say he may offer something for him cuz he notice that zero at the edge !!
yeah he's suffering + He can't control him self anymore !!

but zero was confused and pissed off !! I think he refused !!
then his brother came and notice that zero was screaming from pain !!
after that he shoot him !!

he might did that to make him die in peace or he wants him for something !!
in ch 38 they were talking about the coffin and something about the twins !!

Rido may use zero to kill kanami ... if u remember that haruka did died
because rido killed him with a hunter sword !!

so he might use zero's gun this time to kill kanami ...or Yuuki may use the
other one that zero left .... and kill rido with it !!
