On your Q why weekly? The average page for Claymore manga is 25. Norihiro Yagi writes each page, sketches each page, pencils each page, THEN submits his work to the publisher, and by the time it gets the go signal, has to be printed out...THEN distributed to the stores.
Can ALL these be done in 7 days?
Yagi-san will have a heart attack at that pace.
Unlike DC or Marvel, where the lettering, pencilling, shading etc is allocated to AN individual, Yagi-sensei does everything by himself (except of course, publishing etc). That's why it's monthly.
So just because Jump Square says "weekly", dxanato already explained/confirmed that Claymore will still be monthly, regardless.
