Yet, the more she tried to reason things out, the arguments her mind offered became desperate and feeble. It was irresistible, once she had laid her eyes on the communications screen, she felt her mind blank from the perfection that was displayed. What was it that she was thinking? Should she move on her feelings? How would the other react? She’s had a male husband before. She won’t think of you that way. Was what she desired the person herself? You just want her everlasting beauty.But…Nanoha thought as she slowly reached a conclusion, I do not believe love made sense from the very start.

Yes, she is old enough to be my mother, but mere differences in age cannot limit one’s heart! Yes, she’s had a man before in her life but one can hope that she’s bisexual! And yes, she does want her beauty that never fades, but would she be a woman, no, human, if she did not partially desire it? The answer became clear to Nanoha: yes, she loved Lindy in that sort of way and she would now need to act. Just as Nanoha had finally realized her revelation, Fate had ended her chat and was now beckoning her to bed.

“Aha, Fate, I forgot I had something to do. It’ll only take five minutes or so, so wait for me.” Nanoha said as she backed out of the room, turned and briskly moved through the halls. She would need to confess her feelings but thankfully there existed communication devices in other rooms she thought as she slipped into a nearby room. Her hands moved quickly, shaking as they did, activating the screen, pressing various buttons, and requested communications with Lindy.

“Oh? Nanoha? How are you doing?” Lindy said, quite surprised. Usually Nanoha would talk to her during the day, or more often now, talk to her when Fate called her.


“Lindy…I need to ask a question.” Nanoha said, apprehensively. It seemed strong thoughts and feelings could not block out her nervousness.

“Ask away~” Lindy said, quite cheerfully, sipping more tea. It was quite rare now that they asked her questions.

“Have you…ever thought of remarrying?” When Nanoha said it, Lindy’s hand froze briefly, and then placed her teacup on the table.

“Well, I guess I did, but now I’m too old so there’s no point in thinking about it.” Lindy replied, laughing slightly, wondering what would happen next. Quite frankly, it was impossible for her to not act surprised.

“I don’t think you should give up so easily Lindy.” Nanoha said. What she said next took all of her courage to let out. “Because…Lindy…I love you.”
