I tried the -alang jpn command, it works if you put it in the MPlayer options from the GUI on the 'Miscellaneous' tab then At the textfield below 'Advanced Settings' (where you put the -ass -embeddedfonts -fontconfig -framedrop -sid 0), I tested it on a .mkv file with two languages. Never tried playing files on a command line though.
