It's true he does say that, but it doesn't change the fact that they're having a Shokugeki to decide who "gets" Erina. So yes, they are doing what I said. They are laying claim for her without her even knowing about it. (Even though she does walk through the door and hear the tail end of the conversation)
All in all this Shokugeki is stupid to begin with because Soma doesn't own Erina so Asahi should be able to court her without all this fanfare. I'll just rationalize that as typical for this manga though. Gotta force that Shokugeki!
I hope she regains her composure and tells them that she isn't a prize to be won and that she doesn't belong to anyone. Calling them both assholes would also be a nice touch. That's an incredibly doubtful scenario in a shonen manga though. With her being female and all.
