So why the heck was he gave in the arrest in the first place?
- Also, if he is meeting with the demon, who? WHO? I highly doubt it would be Koschei or Drekavac or even Baba Yaga at this point. And even if he randomly see a demon, what is his deal that outsmart even Tina? Was to annihilate all of the War Maidens under his regime of terror?
- And lastly, about his brilliance in both political and military matters, THESE ARE PAST TENSE! He may be like that in his prime, but that changed since his "imprisonment" within the shrine. Plus, not even he knows about what is happening at the outside world, specially the civil wars in Brune and Asvarre, and don't you dare mentioning about him knowing the Madan no Ou lore, 'case this is impossible!

Spoiler for Answers:
- Because when you run away and then return when it's most convenient to you, you're usually considered and imposter, like half the nobles did with Regin...
- Could be literally anyone. The fire happened long ago. Of all, Ganelon would have had it very easy finding an excuse to have a reunion with Crown prince of Zchted, being one of the most important noblemen in Brune. But all the other demons also had an uncanny skill to appear before important noblemen, so who contacted him could be the least important thing.
- Duh. Have you even read what I said? His "imprisonment" was due to being deemed mad, which was itself extremely shady. What I'm positing is that the event was false and made to cover something else, in which case he wouldn't be mad and so still in his prime. And what are you even saying? Of course he knew of the various civil wars. Zchted had participation in them, and his imprisonment was in words only from the beginning: when a royal is "imprisoned", what is meant is he is put on a room and not allowed to leave for extended periods of time. He would still have servants, information, etc. Specially since in this case it wasn't an enemy, but a son of the king with a supposed mental illness.
Honestly, this is proving a waste of time. If you can't even read carefully then I won't bother anymore. Above all this is pure speculation, which I'm not fond of making with so few information.
