to be honest, he sorta had a good reason not too. While Ranka and Mikhail/Micheal know about Sheryl, I'm assuming the other two don't. Besides at a public place going "Yeah, I was cruising town with so-and-so idol" would only bring further problems, and I'm sure given the Alto's personality he would have avoided any further issues generated from answering.
