It's interesting that you quoted the first post of the thread made in Nov 2011 that gave a body count of 4,000.
Today the figure is somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 dead. FYI the media outlets aren't reporting much now cause nothing much has changed. The war has dragged on for several years and is stalemated. You could avoid reading any updates for 3 months and come back to it, and find that Assad is still in power but can't crush the opposition, but the opposition can't topple Assad.
