It's building up to a climax at the PriPri contest finale, where Ayumi either wins and is crowned Maijima High Princess or she doesn't win. Both routes offer a lot of ways for storytelling possibilities.
Sadly with Shonen Sunday on break after this chapter, it's a long wait again for the next one.
