I doubt that they would take the risk of being discovered just for this,maybe she explained it to him and because our Luffy is genius he won't need any training to control his Haki.
And i wouldn't take Phenomenal serious,everyone admits that Naruto is loosing it,some people just don't like to admit that OP is just better
