Spoiler for Episode 12:

I agree with whoever implied it first: Saber's noble phantasm is imba because it's ranged. Tell me I'm not the only one who got kamehame-flashbacks when it appeared.

First fight that's lacked atmosphere as well... which is bad, since that's what F/SN has been doing best til now: the atmosphere in the fights. I guess a lot of what killed it were the things that are just so cliched in shounen action series fight scenes: yelling out attacks, charging up attacks, etc, etc.

Overall verdict on this episode: this has really killed a lot of the potential I was hoping from this series from the beginning with some bad execution and poor choice of story direction... particularly for some of the characters. I'm hoping the rest of the series delivers to (in a sense) redeem itself after this ep.

Sorrow-K Somehow I found out Join Date: Feb 2006 Age: 40	Spoiler for Episode 12: So basically with Rider "dead" (in inverted commas since this is anime™, so since we didn't see the body, she may still be alive), the Sakura backstory won't appear in the anime. Up til now I've been willing to deal with her pointlessness as a character since I was under the impression that her supposedly interesting backstory would be dealt with in the anime. That hasn't happened. So, as it stands, she hasn't contributed anything to the story, and chances are she won't in the future. I suppose then I can pass a final verdict on her character: absolutely useless side character. What else can I say? She's contributed zip to this anime up to this stage, and we still know virtually zero about her. Similar can be said about Rider as a character as well... her death was purely part of the plot going through its course and in the end she's little more the villainous femme fatale... an antagonistic plot device. This was what I didn't like about Shingetsutan Tsukihime: the antagonists were so one-dimensional. I was hoping this wouldn't happen in F/SN since every oppurtunity has been given to explore the antagonists as characters, but it seems like they've pissed away that oppurtunity for at least one bad-guy (and side character).
