Truth is, there's probably numerous explanations we could come up with--which is why I'm wondering. I'm looking forward to finding out exactly why, assuming there's more to it than meets the eye. And perhaps more than that, I'm now wondering if Universe 9 is gone for good or if the Super Dragon Balls will be used to restore it and all the other universes that will be lost in this tournament.
So assuming the angels want these universes destroyed for some reason, perhaps wishing them back would foil their plans. That sounds like it could give at least some of the angels enough motivation to turn them into the new main antagonists. But now I'm really reaching.
