It's not a matter of perceiving on what people do to the main character. It is a matter of how you are treating your friends. When you recognize that another person is your friend, are you still willing to beat them up?
I agree that it was wrong from both guys to abuse Chiyuri's privacy, and it was even worse to create a backdoor into someone's brain (ultimate invasion of privacy there).
