Not true, had Nunnally not been "lost" than Lelouch wouldn't have slipped into such a depressive state. He wasn't suicidal and has shown beforehand that he didn't want to die. The betrayal was just the last straw because with it he lost the Kallen, Rolo(Who redeemed himself in the end), and the Black Knights on top of losing C.C./Nunnally just recently due to his Geass.
You can only beat up a downed guy so much before he loses the will to live, he was still fighting to do his duties up to the betrayal. Even than he tried to figure out ways to get out of the situation alive until he saw Schneziel.
