Also, the title comes from the fact that I didn't want to make another Mama Bear joke after using it for Megane. A wolf seems to suit Lindy better than a bear, anyway.

In general, one would not consider Lindy Harlaown a frightening figure.
Oh, at some point in her life, she had probably been frightening; of that fact, Hayate had no doubt. Lindy was a woman who could ooze warm motherly love one instant and flood a room with icy, single-minded focus the next. Those cold, focused moments came few and far between these days; Lindy had traded them in for grandmother-hood and happiness with her family over the last few years.
So in general, one would not consider her very frightening at all.
That person also wasn’t Yagami Hayate, the woman dating Lindy’s granddaughter.
So really, I have every right to be a little concerned, Hayate reasoned, resisting the urge to squirm about in her chair like a child in trouble. It wasn’t as if Lindy was Nanoha or Fate; even if she disapproved of the relationship, there was very little she could do about it without upsetting Fate, or even worse, Vivio. If Lindy had anything against the relationship, her hands were tied in the sense of doing anything about it.
Why am I here, then?
The question had lingered in the brown-haired woman’s mind ever since she had made her way into Lindy’s old office, requested to be there by the woman herself. The only reason she could think she was there was, again, because of Vivio, but she couldn’t imagine why Lindy wanted to speak to her.
“Ah, Hayate-chan.” Lindy passed her by then, a sheepish smile on her face as she sipped from her tea. “I’m sorry, I got held up trying to come here. Were you waiting long?”
Hayate shook her head. “Not at all, Lindy-san.” She gave in and shifted just a little bit, trying to get more comfortable in her chair. “You said you wanted to talk?”
“Hm? Oh, yes.” The green-haired took another sip from her cup, blowing absently on the rising steam in a small attempt to cool the liquid within. “About Vivio.”
The younger woman smiled a little shakily. “Ah, you found out about that?”
“Nanoha-chan told me.” The older woman chuckled. “Apparently, my cake last year wasn’t homemade, either.”
“I… I see.” So this was about Vivio, then. “Do you, um… do you disapprove, Lindy-san?”
“Oh, no, not at all!”
…
Well, that was… unexpected.
“Then, um…” She was officially at a loss.
“I just wanted to say one thing, Hayate-chan.” Lindy leaned back in her chair, letting her tea go completely to clasp her hands together. “I’m not Vivio’s mother. I really have no right to tell you, or her, what to do with your relationship.” She smiled; a calm, small smile with just a hint of coldness that sent a chill down Hayate’s spine. “So I only have one thing to tell you.”
Hayate swallowed. Somehow, she had a feeling she wasn’t going to like what she was about to hear. “Yes, Lindy-san?”
“If you hurt Vivio?” Lindy’s eyes gleamed. “There won’t be anything left of you by the time Nanoha-chan and Fate come after you.”
…
…
…
Oh.
Well, then.
Hayate swallowed again. This time, it was audible.
“I’ll keep that in mind, Lindy-san.”
Lindy’s smile became warm. “Good of you, Hayate-chan.”

Now we so need a story where Vivio gets grilled by the Wolkies  ....
Cute, RB! It was really short though  , and I would have liked more!  It definitely does raise the question of how involved Lindy is with Vivio, and how that might colour her interaction with Hayate after finding out about their relationship .
