As far as I know, nothing prevents someone from starting a thread in the
manga forum. I see a lot of postings from manga readers in anime forums that do little other than bitch about the adaptation or parade the author's advanced understanding of the material. Some threads, like the one for
Magi, became unreadable for an anime-only person like me.
