Obvioulsy this shows how inferior US equipment is to russian. you know that shitty M1A2 that we use. longest known identification range on a tank, thermal imaging, night vision, laser targeting, stabilized turret allowing it to fire accuratly while still moving at 30+ MPH. Yep, were going down faster than any russians.
Somalia was not a military action. We were thier to distribute aid and supplies. which were reapeatly hijacked by warlords. When we go in to detain some so that food can be distributed in a country where most of the population is starving, we are mobed. litteraly some of our service men are torn apart by mobs of common people. It is not the fact that we lost 18, but the fact that the people we are spending our money and our time to assist started killing us.
We did not see it as worth our effort any more and left. Had at any time the service men thier been authized for military action prior to that, the outcome would have been much differnt.
