Because if one takes a step back, the story was not just about Riki + anyone. It's also about friendship among the Little Busters, and it'd be great if one could see additional interaction within the group. Remember the penultimate rooftop scene in Refrain where Rin flashbacks to it all? Where did we see that in the common route? That would've been fun to see, and arguably could have made the flashbacks even more heartbreaking.

What I'm hoping they DO NOT do is show those scenes with Rin and Komari early on. Not only would it spoil first time viewers, it would lower the impact and revelation of showing how Rin is trying to become friends with other people. I actually liked how they kept those events hidden the entire time until Refrain due to the player seeing things from Riki's point of view and not showing what Rin is doing UNTIL you get to see things from her point of view. Hiding small things like that and showing the audience when it's most important is a great technique for story telling imo.
