Oh well, looks like MrTerrorist had his Welkin/Selvaria story out. Man, I planned to go to something like that.
I'll see if I can whip up something a bit better perhaps. Let me know if I messed up something or what. This can be subjected to changes though. Also, I'd like to post this in FF.net, but my rule is that I do only two stories only 'cause if I do more than two, then I'll need more time done to finish them.
And yeah, 100th post.
Spoiler for The Story:
Where am I?
A 12-year old Selvaria had taken a few days journey after she escaped from an unknown research facility in Imperial soil. Her semi-tattered and dirty hospital-like clothes were beginning to get torn off from her body, thanks to being exposed from the elements after evading armed men wearing uniforms and carrying rifles and submachine guns from the Imperial military.
I feel so disoriented. Do I even know where I'm going at this rate?
The silver-haired girl looked around every 2 minutes after she had walked a kilometer or so. So far, she was fortunate to see no armed men pursuing her.
I must keep walking...
Looking at the horizon further ahead, Selvaria noticed several windmills with their sails moving when she noticed that she was already on top of a hill. She also noticed several people moving about in the town nearby, not being aware of the young girl's presence.
She decided to keep walking, hoping to find some place to seek refuge from the Imperial uniform-wearing men for good.
"Are you all right?"
Selvaria saw a young boy of similar age with grey hair approach her. At instinct, she stepped a few feet back. But when she saw the hesitation and anxiety in his face, she stopped moving backwards.
"Who are you?"
The young boy asked when Selvaria approached him.
"Do you live there?" She asked, pointing to the windmills.
The boy nodded. "I'm Welkin."
The silver-haired girl smiled. "Selvaria." She felt her strength fading from her body.
"W-what's wrong?!" Welkin shouted, seeing Selvaria collapse.
"I'm..." Selvaria smiled. "tired."
"Welkin!"
Welkin turned around to see two men wearing brown shirts, green pants, brown boots and grey helmets bearing the insignia of the windmill to indicate they were from the Bruhl Town Watch. They were armed with GNA (Gallian National Arsenal) Gallian semi-automatic rifles.
"What happened?" One of the town watchmen approached Welkin. "I heard you shout."
"T-this girl..." Welkin said, cradling her in his arms. "I just saw her here and she fainted."
"It's alright, Welkin." The watchman checked Selvaria's pulse. "Your little girlfriend's fine, Welkin. She's just tired."
"She's not my girlfriend!" Welkin shouted when the watchman patted his head.
"He'll go and get your father." The watchman pointed out his colleague, who went down the hill.
"Will he get Isara too?"
"Of course." The watchman replied, helping Welkin check the fainted Selvaria for any wounds. "She looks okay." He checked her figure for any cuts or bruises. "Aside from some bruises, it looks like she didn't eat much."
"I wonder what happened to her?" Welkin mused.
The watchman saw his colleague coming back with Belgen Gunther in tow, holding a 6-year old Isara Gunther by her left hand. They were accompanied by two men wearing light blue dress shirts, blue neckties, black kepis, pants and boots, indicating their affiliation with the Gallian Gendarmerie. Their epaulettes indicate that their ranks are Corporal.
"Hang in there." Welkin tried to shake Selvaria a bit, still in his hands. "You're going to be fine."
