This was when Gin was hugging her. I like to think that the pity she felt was at least real. (but, yeah, pity is bad - then again, Gin was in a somewhat pitiful state - tho repeating that pity over and over is worse)
This was when Gin disappeared into the ground. I dont think Shinku enjoyed it.
Also, while Shinku could have been more tactful when breaking the "news" that Gin "couldnt" become a RM to her, at least Shinku did not expressly teach Gin to walk just so Gin could meet father, i.e. she didnt purposely say or intent: "I'm teaching you to walk so you can meet father" (or did she? Remember, I know no Japanese.
). All along, it was Gin's desire to meet father that led Gin along. Anyhow, I guess thats the reason for Shinku's sad expression when Gin hugged her.. Shinku
thought that Gin could not meet father.
