Those glyphs in the anime? Just visual effect, no meaning to it.
In the novel when Akatsuki uses Renkankeikikou he gives off a blue glow, but that won't look cool in anime form so they change it to glyphs.

Obviously he does care about Miyu, otherwise he wouldn't have came up with the plan in the first place and could just let her die.
