Although I was surprised at the sudden change from tactical battle to comedic mecha fights, I have to commend BONES for their way of mocking themselves before anyone can mock them. As apparent from the way they unreservedly had the characters ridicule the situation, they really want to make sure this shouldn't be taken seriously
