Kyon is a highschool student who's life is turned upside down by classmate, Suzumiya Haruhi. She just happens to possess a special power which warps the world around her be any way she wants. The twist is she isn't aware of this.

Okay, I had to dig way back in this rapidly-growing thread to find a description, but I'm glad I did. Things make a lot more sense now.
