For blending the render you could do feather blending or soft erase
Feather blending would be fairly simple but less control than the soft erase.
Simple feather blending
Select render layer with Ctrl holded.
Ctrl+alt+D > pops up a feather window. Set it to around 5-3 depending on render size. Hit ok. Ctrl+shift+I (inverse selection) and hit delete once or twice depending on your feather setting.
You could just circle the render from about 10-20 px. Than the same step as above with the feathering. But than set the feather settings on 15-25 or so depending on how far you started circling.
Soft eraser blending
Soft brush is just get eraser and get the 45-65 soft eraser and just erase the edges.
