Thinking back on it, you're right. Still, Nichijou is so polarizing, I can understand the backlash more.
EDIT: I don't hate Nichijou; in fact, I think it was hilarious. However, many don't like "wacky, random" humor. Plus, the art style was a major departure from typical KyoAni style. That's why I see it as being more of a "split-reaction" show than Hyouka.
