Actually, the impression was that Kaoru was jealous of the girls of the club because they could freely pursue their romance (and with Eita
) while "he" could not due to his own circumstances.
Also, the fact that the told us an "alibi" about Kaori being Kaoru's imouto, that doesn't mean that Kaori & Kaoru are 2 different people (in fact, most clues point out the exact opposite).
