I haven't really seen Golden Boy... and I don't think I'll ever do so because the fanservice puts me off. Given that aspect, it's not like Golden Boy... The plot would most likely be different since OverDrive is a sports anime, in which the focus of the story is more on Mikoto's development from a weak spineless guy to a great cycler (and the relationships that he forms with the people around him in the process). Perhaps not as witty as Golden Boy (as far as I know o.o;; ), but a very exciting and fun anime to watch nonetheless.

lol. You have to give Golden Boy a try and overlook the fanservice. It's a great anime, albeit a bit short.
There was this scene in Golden Boy when he was racing against a bike on his motorcycle. It was so hilarious.
So I was drawing similarities between Golden Boy and this anime because of that.
PS. I don't like this anime already because of its cliche name. It puts me off.
