It's a safe haven for them(the army truck), just in case if EVER when they get to Saya's house, everyone there is turned to zombie. So they can easily escape, but with Rei blundered to an accident well they're stuck. Live together as a team I guess is their motive here like Takashi said, it's better to die with Rei than go on. Damn Takashi can't even pick up bullets right. Jeezz glad he emptied the shotgun and used it as a BAT!
