HRAGNA is a god of war and battle, and is the giver of victory. Which one could imply to mean military might. However, I think Alec just meant war god, rather than those being necessary attributes.

He had the ten forms from the beginning, including the warrior, so I think it still counts. Regardless,
Heretic Verethragna was most definitely born for battle, since there seems to be some difference between original and heretic forms of gods.
