the numbers represent the number of vertices in each polygon. As you can see, the 3 is only inside the triangle, the 6 only in the hexagon, and so on. So to find A, you count the number of sides of the combined polygon it's in. Therefore, A would be eleven, and since B isn't in any polygon, it's 0.
