I saw episode 15, and yeah, episode 15 subtly touches on that issue. Suzu's care for Ginko is evident (she grabbed onto Ginko in one scene), and Miharu words about how she will be lonely if he leaves. One gets the thought that had Ginko stayed in that house with her, and in time, it might've been more. Who knows? But the fact is clear, Ginko is a wandering soul. I gained whole new level of respect for him and strangely have a hint of pity for him at the same time.
