Well I suppose Chitanda growing up in that environment knows that people love rumors more than they love trusting someone's character
. Suppose it makes sense anyways. She shows up with a guy and goes missing for a while in a shed
! In the end better to play it safe than sorry. Especially when she initially thinks he has his cellphone and can just call in some help
