VN's already only appeal to a pretty select and almost limited audience in the first place. If an all ages VN don't sell that well in japan, what chances do you think that one will be succesfull in foreign countries?
Plus all the extra costs (translation, marketing etc.) for bringing those games to the foreign market combined with a low chance of succes/profit and it's not that strange why we haven't seen that many English translated VN's in the west.
