One thing useful for writers, especially if they have a frequent locale or "set" they're in, is to sketch the layout for purposes of continuity. Otherwise, the reader can get confused by moving furniture, doors appearing and disappearing, etc.
Here's the layout for "Rocket Science Labs" (Blar's condo unit). The kitchen has an open bar so there's line of sight to the living room. I didn't bother with the practice room since its just a big square. The condo occupies the corner of the top floor and is actually two units that were purchased and merged (which is where a lot of Blar's original pile of money went). Effort time about 20 minutes.
