About the flight unit's transformation sequence:
Spoiler for Type One:
In an instant, the sky is filled with yellow solid projectiles streaking towards the Minerva while shock projectiles from the Draco Jabber’s cannon are barely visible, distorting light and space in its path which makes it noticeable only to a watchful eye. Despite the barrage of projectiles slowly attenuating Minerva’s barrier power, Inami stands firm and zeros in on the Focus Jabber seeing as a long-range support unit usually suffers from the lack of close-combat measures.
As he swings the Sen No Nami, the Glint Jabber swoops into his path and parries the blow with its pseudo-Yukihara. Against the mass of the buster sword, the massive impact on the Glint Jabber’s sword knocks the drone away but it gave the Focus Jabber enough time to keep its distance from the Minerva.
Inami turns the Type One around realizing that most of the replica Jabbers have passed him.
“Not on my watch…!”
“-Use the Type One’s alternate mode! It’ll grant you more room for movement and greater speed!-”
“This flight unit has an alternate mode…?”
Despite the doubts, he initiates the Type One’s transformation; a pair of arms deploy from concealing panels on the mid-section of the craft behind the platforms where the Minerva’s feet are secured onto. The arms’ manipulators clamps onto the Minerva’s shoulders and the latches on the feet are unlocked. The Type One swings to the back of the Minerva where it transforms into its alternate, backpack mode; the wings flip down while the mid-section folds upwards, revealing another set of thrusters that were concealed within the unit specifically for its alternate form.
With the mid-section folded up and the wings flipped into forward-swept such that it forms an inverted delta shape, the arms pull the transformed Type One onto the Minerva’s back where hard-points secures the backpack into position.
“Awesome!” is the only thing that Inami could use to describe his priceless impression of the Type One’s backpack form. With additional thrusters, sustained flight and platform-free movement, he readies the Sen No Nami buster sword below the right side of his waist once again. With his mind focused on hindering the drones from ever reaching the Academy, Inami sets the Type One’s main thrusters to maximum output.
The Type One immediately expels a stream of bright blue particles. Unlike the Minerva’s, the Type One’s stream of particles are wider and denser which generates an exponentially greater boost power compared to the Minerva’s on its own. Inami zeroes in on the Stark Jabber that’s leading the formation, swinging the Sen No Nami towards it.
