Here's how the iceberg thing went:

Spoiler:

Hayate gathers water from the ocean, freezing it into the giant iceberg.

Cypha starts hacking away at it, but Hayate takes control of the pieces and aim them at the ship again, so now they're surrounded by blocks of ice.

The whole time it looks like Hayate is under a lot of strain to maintain it all.

Then Karen stabs her.

The ice berg then shatters. Seemingly by itself, but it's possible it was destroyed by a Huckebein, but Leoheart didn't post a pic of that on their blog.

Considering Hayate's strain it might be that even if Cypha delinked the magic, Hayate immediately re-linked it.
