400 words challenge met, and some original spice too. :3
Spoiler for The passenger:
“Bye bye mama!”
“Thank you for the ride!”
Nanoha smiled as her six year old daughter waved at her while her blue haired friend bowed, before they both ran of to school. “Satte…” she mumbled to herself as she stepped back into the car to drive to work.
“Those two look happy.” The person sitting in the passenger seat noted.
“Mah, they both enjoy their school after all. And Syn is a very good friend of Vivio.”
“I noticed. She’s been spending a lot of time with Vivio.”
“Syn is an honest kid. Stubborn, but honest. She’s a lot like you in a way.”
Her passenger frowned. “I’m not stubborn.”
“Yes you are.
“I’m not!”
Nanoha grinned as the person beside her proved her point. It took a moment before it sank into her passenger, and she huffed in defeat.
“She’s a good kid.” Her passenger mumbled. “She’d risk her life to safe Vivio if it came down to it.”
“Hmm.” Nanoha agreed. “Vivio would do the same for her.”
“It won’t come to that.” Her passenger said firmly. “Those two are strong kids; they’ll become fine mages, just like their parents.”
“You think so?”
“When have I ever been wrong?”
Nanoha grinned. “Well…” she started.
“That was rhetorical!” her passenger shouted indignantly.
Nanha laughed. “By the way, why did you ask me to give you a ride today? I don’t mind, but usually you go to work by yourself.”
“Because you’re going in the same direction.”
“Eh?” Nanoha said, startled, as she knew her work was in the opposite direction of her passenger.
“Oh, I haven’t told you yet, have I?” her passenger grinned. “Starting today I’m officially an Air Force Instructor. I’ll be working with you from now on, every day, every night.”
Nanoha blinked. “Eh?”
“Mah, it was troublesome, they didn’t really like me transferring out at my old post, but the Supreme Air Force Aggressors were all to happy to have another elite instructor.
Nanoha let it sink in for a moment, then smiled. “Could it be that you’re worried about me?”
Her passenger swiftly turned her head to the window. “Urusee-yo. If I don’t keep an eye on you, who knows what sort of trouble you’d get into.”
“Nyahaha” Nanoha laughed, part because she knew her passenger was right, part because she was glad she cared for her so much.
“Thank you, Vita-chan.”
“Sure. Anytime.”
