Unfortunately, as a general rule of thumb, if you see a DVD being sold as an "import"
with English/Chinese subtitles, it is almost definitely a bootleg.

That webpage has been up for as long as I remember (and when I wanted to check if I had bought a bootleg). It's a very informative site about bootleg DVDs that primarily come from China (or China and Taiwan from another POV).
