I definitely think Mayama scored. How it ended just proved it - aside from the fact that one could see a much healthier Rika (from her countenance), their talk as the ending credits played seemed to portray her in a content and happy light - she was smiling as they talked. Notice that she never smiled after the accident until Mayama came let her know that life is still worth living, and she seems to bless Mayama with this gift of happiness to herself as well as to him.
I love that couple. I hope they end up together together. YKWIM?
