Don't make any assumptions about the ending! While (IMO) there have been several hints drop pointing towards an eventual gracious parting ... nothing is set in stone atm. How did Horo become a Sage Wolf anyway? Perhaps Lawrence can become one as well (in Yoitsu?), and the 2 can spend the next few decades/centuries working towards the economical dominance of medieval europe (Let me dream XD).
