Well, that went way differently from how it did in the manga, but that's definetly for the best, since the original way Akari gets accepted was honestly lame for a series about girls shooting guns and kicking butt, only serving as a flimsy connection to the main story, something the Kinji and Shirayuki cameo did a lot better.
On the other hand, it looks like the next episode will go very much like it did in the manga, which is a good thing, though it will probably show one potential problem of this series regarding its characters, but we'll see.
I also agree on Aria being much more fun as a sempai. Not all heroines are better off left on their own, but that's obviously the case here, even without having much experience on the main series.
